Today, at 1:47 a.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department was alerted to a structure fire in a one-story residence, located at 3504 S 5th Avenue in Jefferson Park. According to their official website, flames were visible in the attic.
Reportedly, the fire started in one room at the rear corner of the house and extended into the attic. A 40-member fire crew managed to douse the flames within 16 minutes, as stated in this LAFD ALERT. There have been no reported injuries resulting from the incident.
Different units of the LAFD, including FS 34, Batt 18, South Bureau, and Council District 10, coordinated carefully to safely control the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
