Earlier today, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) addressed a small brush fire in Ernest Debs Regional Park at Montecito Heights. As reported at 10:24 AM, the fire originated from an unattended makeshift fire pit near the Walnut Forest Trail and Seco Valle Trail, as per an LAFD report.
There was no wind, so the fire posed no threat to nearby structures or communities.
Arriving at the location within 20 minutes, LAFD crews contained the fire swiftly. A follow-up report by the LAFD confirmed containment and extinguishment before it could spread to nearby brush. The incident caused no injuries or evacuation requirements.
