Today around 8:30 a.m., a fire broke out in a commercial building at 11700 W Sherman Way, North Hollywood. Smoke was observed from the one-story, 50' x 70' size building, necessitating immediate intervention by firefighters, says the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). The increasing severity of the fire caused a call for more resources, turning it into a Greater Alarm structure fire.
The LAFD confirmed that firefighters performed forcible entry extensively to get inside building. Conditions inside became darker, and crews found themselves mixing the flames at the building's rear side. To increase safety, truck companies were given the task of performing vertical ventilation operations. There were no injuries reported, as shared by an LAFD update.
