Earlier yesterday, at 1:53 a.m., Santos Vargas, 40, and Rebecca Rodriguez, 39, both residents of Norwalk, were arrested in the parking lot of Albertson's on Los Serranos Country Club Dr., Chino Hills. The pair appeared to be concealing their vehicle's identity, as reported by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.
Cops from the Chino Hills Police Station noticed Rodriguez replacing her license plates with paper plates. Upon further investigation, they saw a bag of what was suspected to be methamphetamine in the vehicle. A subsequent check on records revealed for a stolen vehicle a felony warrant under Vargas' name, associated in Orange County. This discovery raised further suspicions about their intentions that night.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers found numerous burglary tools and stolen property, which led to a potential history of criminal behavior. Both Rodriguez and Vargas were then arrested. They were booked at the West Valley Detention Center on charges of possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance, and identity theft, as indicated by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.
