
An officer-involved shooting occurred yesterday at South Meridian and West Commonwealth Avenues in Alhambra. The incident is now under investigation, as reported by Hoodline.
As per the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD), the incident involved Alhambra police officers and a 17-year-old Hispanic male, who was suspected of robbery and in possession of a firearm. The suspect's act of brandishing a firearm initiated swift engagement by the officers.
Suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his lower torso, the juvenile was transported to a local hospital, according to the LASD. A firearm was recovered on site and the LASD Homicide Bureau is assisting the Alhambra Police Department in the investigation.
