The Laguna Beach Police Department spearheaded its latest operation on Sunday, October 29, cracking down on excessive speed and vehicles with loud or modified exhaust systems in Orange County, California. The operation is aimed to address safety and improve the quality of life in coastal communities from San Clemente to Seal Beach, according to the City of Laguna Beach News.
Support from the Newport Beach and Huntington Beach police departments and an Inspector from the Bureau of Automotive Repair facilitated the operation. The police stopped 50 vehicles for various violations, issued 15 citations for loud or modified exhaust, and 22 citations for speed offenses, with 10 citations for other infractions. One individual with outstanding warrants was arrested, as reported by the City of Laguna Beach News.
Police Chief Jeff Calvert voiced his concerns over speeding and noise violations, stating that their persistence necessitates taking a zero-tolerance stance on enforcement. Commending the cooperation among Orange County law enforcement agencies, he spoke of the intention to maintain these joint efforts through year-end, as per Laguna Beach News.
