Matthew Antonio Zakrzewski, a 34-year-old nanny, was convicted by an Orange County Superior Court jury on October 3rd, 2023, of 34 felony sex charges. These charges were related to the molestation of 16 boys aged 2 to 12, and displaying child pornography to another boy, as stated  by ABC7. The crimes allegedly occurred between 2014 and 2019.

Zakrzewski advertised his services as a "manny." His advertisements showcased his credentials, including his CPR training and extensive background checks, aimed at making himself appear trustworthy and experienced as per NBC Los Angeles, to quickly facilitate the hiring process.

Families who hired Zakrzewski for their childcare needs were unknowingly allowing a predator into their homes. The first case of abuse came to light in May 2019 when an 8-year-old boy from Laguna Beach confided in his mother about his experiences with Zakrzewski reported ABC7.

Zakrzewski was arrested upon his return from Spain at LAX airport shortly after these allegations surfaced. Deputy District Attorney Juliet Oliver argued during the trial that Zakrzewski meticulously groomed his victims and their parents as noted by CBS Los Angeles. Oliver also claimed that a book on pedophilia was found on Zakrzewski's computer.

The prosecution presented evidence of Zakrzewski's crimes, including videotapes of his abuses recorded by himself. Each of Zakrzewski's victims and their families were unacquainted with one another, pointing to an ulterior motive for his actions as reported by CBS Los Angeles.

Zakrzewski was subsequently convicted on all charges and could face up to 690 years to life in prison when he gets sentenced on November 17, according to NBC Los Angeles
