Captain Joshua A. Bardon has taken on the role of the new commander of the Palmdale Station. Committed to community engagement, Captain Bardon leads deputies and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department staff, aiming to partner with businesses, residents, and city staff for the safety and benefit of Palmdale, according to a City of Palmdale press release.

Highlighting his goals, the City of Palmdale - Government FB post reported Captain Bardon's focus on swift response times to routine service calls and application of community policies. These aims directly match with the city's BEST (Business Expansion, Support, and Training) objectives as expressed by Mayor Laura Bettencourt.

Captain Bardon is set to implement the CARES model — Communication, Accountability, Respect, Equity, and Synergy — over his first three months in his new role, demonstrating his commitment to people-first law enforcement. "It is through the synergy of partnerships between Palmdale Station, the City of Palmdale, local residents, and community-based organizations that this vision can be achieved," stated Bardon in the press release.

With a law enforcement career of twenty-two years under his belt and boasting twenty-four commendations and awards, Bardon brings extensive experience to the role. He holds a Master of Public Administration and a bachelor's degree in applied studies, both from the California State University system. He also successfully completed the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy in 2017 and received specialized training in areas such as narcotic investigation, drug and alcohol recognition, and field command. Captain Bardon has served in various capacities at the Palmdale Station since 2019, which now include roles as watch commander, detective bureau commander, and service area lieutenant.
