The life Maleesa Mooney, a 31-year-old pregnant model and real estate agent in downtown Los Angeles, was tragically cut short. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office classified her death as "homicidal violence", as reported by KTLA.
According to the Hoodline report, Mooney was found dead in a downtown high-rise apartment during a welfare check by LAPD officers on September 12. Her sister, Jourdin Pauline, expressed her sorrow and determination for justice on social media.
So far, there has been no released description of the suspect or other details connected to the case. In the backdrop of Mooney's demise, another aspiring model, Nichole Coats, was found dead in her apartment, three miles away, just two days before. Despite the eerie proximity and timing, LAPD officials believe the cases are likely not related.
With Maleesa's family yearning for justice, they urge anyone with any information regarding her case to reach out to Detective Pierce or Marcinek at (213) 996-4150 or submit anonymous tips to the L.A. Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477 or through their website. In their quest for justice, they seek to honor Maleesa's memory and unite their community towards healing.
