An unfortunate event unfolded on the Berryessa Loop Trail in Napa County yesterday when a hiker sustained injuries that necessitated a rescue mission.
A rescue team comprising the California Highway Patrol (CHP) H-30, Cal Fire, Napa County Sheriff, and AMR Napa worked in unison to locate and assist the hiker.
The CHP Golden Gate Air Operations conveyed that the injured hiker was quickly identified using GPS coordinates provided by Saint Helena Dispatch. A rescuer then lowered to the victim, placed them in a rescue harness, and together, they were safely hoisted. The hiker was subsequently taken to the nearby Knoxville Road and finally transported to the Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa by AMR.
