Yesterday, a vehicle crashed into a house on the 3100 block of Casa Loma Dr in the quiet neighborhood of San Bernardino, igniting a fire that rendered the home uninhabitable. The collision was reported by the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District.
Firefighters were quick to arrive at the scene to coordinate their efforts. They managed to control the fire—which had engulfed both the house and an adjacent vehicle—through both interior and rooftop suppression techniques. Despite the crash and subsequent fire, no injuries were reported, but the occupants of the crashed vehicle had disappeared before authorities arrived.
First responders managed to put the fire out within 30 minutes of arriving at the scene. In response, the San Bernardino Police have opened an investigation into the crash and are searching for the missing vehicle occupants. In light of the extensive damages that rendered the house unlivable, the Red Cross has been enlisted to help the displaced residents.
