Earlier today, a fire blazed through a part of San Pedro, Los Angeles. The fire originated from a tree at 438 W 14th St. and quickly spread to nearby buildings before the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) could contain it. According to the LAFD report, it took 52 firefighters 48 minutes to put out the flames.
The large fire demanded an aggressive response, thus required the combined efforts of several firefighting teams including E101, E112, E205, E238, E248, E266, and E285, as mentioned by Hoodline. Additional resources needed to combat the fire, HR3 and UR88, were also deployed by the LAFD.
The fire was of such magnitude that the LAFD had to call in significant resources to control it. Flames had spread to nearby storage and set a duplex and an apartment on fire.
There were no major injuries reported for civilian or the firefighters on scene. There was one individual that needed an evaluation by paramedics but did not require hospitalization , according to another LAFD update.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
