The City of Santa Clarita will inaugurate its fourth Metrolink Station at the Vista Canyon Multi-Modal Center on Friday, October 20. This new addition serves pedestrians and commuters alike, with plans to bolster economic growth and sustainable development in the region as per City of Santa Clarita Press Release.

The Vista Canyon Multi-Modal Center, included on the Southern California Regional Rail Authority Metrolink Antelope Valley Line, operates between Lancaster and Los Angeles Union Station. It aims to reduce vehicle traffic, improve public transit service, and extend transport service to underserved areas, according to the City of Santa Clarita Press Release.

With new infrastructure, such as railway tracks, benches, canopies, lighting and a security system that is state-of-the-art, the Vista Canyon Multi-Modal Center provides a safe and convenient transit hub. The center also offers 18 bicycle lockers for cyclists.

Buses from GO! Santa Clarita and Dial-a-Ride will also serve at the Multi-Modal Center, offering a more interconnected and efficient transit network. The center, functioning as a bus transfer station, enables for more seamless transitions in daily travel routines.

Aside from practicality, the Vista Canyon Multi-Modal Center integrates history and community through its unique features. A permanent artwork titled "Union at the End of the Tunnel" echoes the unity of the Southern Pacific and Central Pacific Railroad tracks back in 1876. The artwork is a tribute to Chinese laborers who contributed significantly to the railroad's construction, as mentioned by the City of Santa Clarita Press Release.
