
Earlier this week, October 24, Andy's Donuts in Santa Rosa was the scene of a robbery. The suspect, 31-year-old local resident Dawit Ekube, was apprehended two days later following an investigation by the Santa Rosa Police Department .
According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, Ekube demanded money from a store clerk, and when refused, pursued the clerk and attempted to forcibly take the money. Ekube fled in a silver sedan but was arrested during a traffic enforcement stop by the Violent Crimes Investigation Team as stated in Santa Rosa Police official Facebook page.
Detectives, together with SRPD Patrol Officers, apprehended Ekube during a traffic enforcement stop at around 12:55 p.m. on Thursday, October 26. Subsequently, they executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2300 block of Mikayla Drive in connection with the robbery, where various pieces of evidence related to the crime were discovered.
