
Yesterday, a Santa Rosa resident, identified as Juan Calderon Hernandez (58), crashed his vehicle into a house, the incident resulting in his arrest for drunk driving. The Santa Rosa Police Department's report stated that Hernandez's preliminary blood alcohol content (BAC) at the scene was 0.18, over double California's legal limit.
The crash occurred near Dutton Ave. and W. 8th St., causing extensive damage to the property and leading to a precautionary evacuation. After the vehicle had crossed the northbound lanes and hit a residential structure on the east side of Dutton Ave., a gas meter was damaged, causing a leak. Authorities conducted a swift and thorough investigation. Fortunately, the incident did not result in injuries.
Hernandez now faces numerous charges, including drunk driving and operating a vehicle with a BAC of 0.08% or greater.
