On Saturday evening, October 7, a severe two-vehicle collision happened in Twentynine Palms, California, resulting in substantial injuries to both drivers. As stated in the San Bernardino County Morongo Basin Sheriff's Department report, the incident took place around 7:25 PM at the crossway of Twentynine Palms Highway and Cienega Drive.

Edward DeCastro, 23, and Cyrilo Martinez, 42, both Twentynine Palms residents, were the involved drivers. Upon arrival at the crash scene, law enforcement found an unidentified driver trapped in his vehicle. San Bernardino County Fire Department was then notified and successfully completed the extraction.

Emergency services swiftly transferred both drivers to nearby medical facilities. One was escorted by Morongo Basin EMS Ambulance to Desert Regional Medical Center, while the other was brought to Hi-Desert Medical Center also via Morongo Basin EMS Ambulance. However, the two drivers' current health statuses have yet to be disclosed.

To directly pinpoint the cause of this collision and any possible preventative measures, the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Department is conducting an investigation.
