The Simi Valley Police Department recently reported that Laura Maldonado and Kellie Williams were arrested in connection to a case of organized retail theft. Yesterday, the women, aged 37 and 48 respectively, made an unsuccessful attempt to flee from a Vons store with unpaid groceries having earlier taken merchandise from a local Target store on Cochran Street, approximately $3800 worth of merchandise was recovered according to the news release.
Maldonado and Williams were taken into custody and subsequently booked at the Ventura County Jail on charges including Grand Theft, Organized Retail Theft, and for Conspiracy. All of the stolen merchandise was successfully returned to the respective stores.
