The Springfield Police Department arrested 25-year-old repeat offender Kevin Arroyo after a shots fired call on Daviston Street yesterday, shortly after 9:00 PM according to their official website. Arroyo was spotted with blood on his hands and face, not far from the location of the incident; spent shell casings, a gun holster, and blood were discovered in a nearby apartment.

The firearm purportedly used was later found in a local backyard. In addition to the firearm, officers discovered three magazine clips with capacities of holding 27, 15, and 15 rounds in a backpack, a broken fence indicating a hasty exit, over $600 in cash, marijuana, pills, and extra ammunition. Notably, Arroyo attempted to bribe an officer with $1,000 on his way to Springfield Police Headquarters.

Having two prior firearms convictions, two prior drug convictions, and an open Springfield District Court case for drug distribution, Arroyo's arrest again brings recidivism to the forefront. Despite Arroyo's criminal record, he managed to acquire a loaded firearm, high-capacity magazines, and ammunition without valid documentation required by law.
