On Wednesday night, stranded hikers on Napa County's Oak Hill Mine Trail were safely rescued thanks to the collective efforts of the CHP H-30 helicopter crew and several emergency services posts. The rescue was carried out by the CHP Golden Gate Division and was reported on their official Facebook page.
Emergency units, including Cal Fire LNU, Calistoga Fire, and Napa AMR, arrived to provide their expertise in such situations. The CHP H-30 helicopter took swift action and located the imperiled hikers, along with their dog, on a precarious swath of the trail.
Consequently, a Calistoga Helicopter Rescue Technician (HRT) from the CHP H-30 was dispatched through a specialized "one skid" landing to assist the hikers. This technique allowed the HRT to effectively aid the distressed hikers. The crew carried out another "one skid" maneuver to move the hikers and their dog to the Calistoga Fairgrounds for additional medical assessment by the Fire and AMR teams according to the CHP Golden Gate Division.
