
On Monday, October 16, a 14-year-old male student from Adelanto High School in San Bernardino County was arrested for carrying an unloaded firearm on school premises. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, he was subsequently detained at the High Desert Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center, reflecting an increasing concern over firearms presence in schools.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department revealed that Deputy M. Lewis received a tip-off about the student carrying the firearm. Upon investigation, deputies found an unloaded semi-automatic pistol in the student's waistband and arrested him for violating PC 626.9—possession of a firearm on school grounds.
