On October 14, a FLOCK camera spotted a stolen vehicle near the cross-section of Road and Waterman, leading to a high-speed chase and the subsequent arrest of three minors from Sacramento.
As mentioned by the Fairfield Police Department in their Facebook post today, officers Spencer and Ray found the stolen car in a parking lot on Hilborn Road's 2500 block. Although the officers tried to execute an appropriate stop, the driver of the stolen car resisted and rammed into the patrol vehicle in a failed escape attempt. The vehicle hit a light pole before speeding away from the law enforcement.
The arrest of the three Sacramento minors, including a previously reported missing youth who was reunited with their parent, concluded the high-risk incident. The driver now faces charges of assault, evading police, and possession of a stolen vehicle, post medical clearance.
FLOCK cameras, engineered to capture license plate data and alert authorities about stolen or wanted cars, have been valuable in aiding law enforcement across the country. Their effectiveness in this case underscores the importance of such technologies in maintaining public safety and fighting crime.
