
A fatal traffic accident occurred in Huntington Beach on October 29 at the intersection of Magnolia Street and Hamilton Avenue. The Huntington Beach Police Department reports that the involved vehicles were a blue BMW X3 and a blue Harley-Davidson Softail motorcycle.
The accident claimed the life of a 61-year-old male motorcyclist from Costa Mesa. The Huntington Beach Police Department doesn't believe impairment played a role in the BMW driver's actions, while the motorcyclist's sobriety assessment is still pending.
The BMW driver, an 82-year-old male from Huntington Beach, survived the collision.
According to initial findings, the BMW was traveling westbound on Hamilton Avenue and the driver of the BMW was attempting to make a left turn onto Magnolia Street, while the motorcyclist was heading eastbound on the same avenue. The vehicles collided at the intersection of Magnolia Street.
The Huntington Beach Police Department's Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the incident. The department calls for any potential witnesses to reach out to Traffic Investigator J. Rounds at (714) 536-5666.
