On October 20, deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station responded to a suspected fentanyl overdose in Twentynine Palms, California. The incident underlines the persistent challenge of opioid-related overdoses affecting communities across America, as per an official report.
Answering the call, deputies found an unresponsive 21-year-old woman in the 6300 block of Mojave Avenue's residential garage. Quick to identify signs of a fentanyl overdose, the officers administered two doses of Nasal Naloxone (Narcan) and successfully negated the drug’s ill effects. The woman subsequently regained consciousness and, upon arrival, medical professionals further stabilized her before transportation to Hi-Desert Medical Center.
