A woman was shot multiple times earlier today on the 6th Street Bridge that connects Boyle Heights and the Arts District, according to a statement by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). The assailant reportedly fled the scene in a silver sedan immediately after the incident as per KTLA 5 report.
The LAPD revealed that the victim, whose identity yet to be released, now is in stable condition at a local hospital. Meanwhile, they confirmed the shooter's whereabouts remain unknown. Nonetheless, the LAPD continues its efforts to solve the case and identify the perpetrator.
Officer D. Orris of the LAPD's Operations Center has hinted at a possible gang involvement in the shooting. The Eastsider LA reported Orris's suggestion that the incident may not have been random, but potentially gang-related, given that the woman was shot by someone in a passing vehicle.
