Earlier today, Agoura High School in Agoura Hills, California, was briefly put on lockdown due to reports of a potentially armed individual near the school property. The situation has since been linked to an alleged "swatting" call according to FOX LA.
The act of swatting, which involves raising a false alarm to elicit a large-scale emergency response, poses significant threats to public safety and the efficient operation of emergency services. These events will jeopardize the safety of students, staff, and faculty by causing potential disruption and distress.
To swiftly investigate following the call early on November 14, 2023, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's (LASD) Lost Hills Sheriff's Station adopted a heightened level of security for and around the high school on W. Driver Ave. in order to ensure the protection of all related individuals. LASD Lost Hills Stn. Post kept the public informed via Twitter, advising them to avoid the area while the lockdown was in place.
