On November 6,  two individuals were apprehended in Barstow, California, by local enforcement agencies.

In the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department's press release, the traffic stop involved a white Mercedes C250 occupied by John Roy Ramirez (42), Olivia Michelle Pickett (29), and Pickett's 2-year-old child. A search of the vehicle recovered over $2,000, a loaded firearms magazine, and methamphetamine.  Officers performed a felony traffic stop on the vehicle due to its involvement in an investigation for an assault with a deadly weapon.

Ramirez was arrested on multiple charges, including being a felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited from possessing ammunition, and a violent felon in possession of body armor, as outlined in the official press release. He also had existing warrants and is now being held without bail at the High Desert Detention Center. Pickett was arrested for child endangerment and was sent to the same facility.

Child and Family Services was contacted and took custody of Pickett’s 2-year-old child.
