
Yesterday, a fire emerged in a ground-floor unit of a two-story apartment complex located in the 200 block of Southbrook, Irvine. The Irvine Police officers and Orange County Fire Authority acted rapidly to secure the tenants' safety and mitigate further damage to the property, as posted on their twitter account.

Immediately noticing the fire at 4:16 p.m., the Irvine Police officers contacted the Emergency Command Center before taking the initiative to evacuate residents. The Orange County firefighters arrived on the scene within three minutes of the call.
The firefighters helped to contain the blaze, restricting damage to solely the originating unit. The immediate action thus preserved the other seven units in the building from potential disaster. No injuries were reported during this incident.
As of now, the exact cause of the fire is yet to be identified.
