A structure fire was reported this morning at 10:04 AM at 8160 N Wilkinson Avenue. The engulfed non-residential converted garage posed a serious threat to adjacent structures in the bustling neighborhood according to an LAFD alert.
In a statement obtained by LAFD, it was revealed that the fire attack was indeed "offensive," with flames menacing nearby edifices. This highlighted the imminent risk that both fire personnel and residents had to cruelly face as the fire voraciously tried to spread its reach.
Remarkably, in a mere 17 minutes, the LAFD valiantly achieved what they referred to as a "knockdown" of the blaze. As per an updated report from the LAFD, 32 firefighters were involved in the arduous taming of the fire at the corrected address of 8121 N Wilkinson Avenue. Their concerted efforts prevented the fire from extending to the neighboring one-story home, which, while it managed to escape the flames, did not entirely evade damage, suffering thermal impact to its eaves.
There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
