Communities are facing an emerging trend of bold burglaries, with a series of October arrests exposing a set of criminals targeting businesses and homes.
On October 23, a business on Columbus Pkwy's 400 block reported a week-long burglary, with merchandise worth over $70,000 stolen. The thieves were eventually apprehended, despite the stolen items not being recovered, and their identities having been disclosed following a direct encounter with store employees.
According to the Vallejo Police Department, these crimes weren't confined just to businesses. These criminals also exploited homes, innocuously blending into the neighborhood. A theft in progress on October 25 was thwarted when a neighbor reported four individuals suspiciously removing property from a 100-block Baxter Street residence. Consequently, all the culprits arrested and were, booked into the county jail. The stolen property was recovered to returned to the rightful owner.
These incidents underpin the importance of community vigilance to maintain safety. This includes questioning suspicious activity and prioritizing proactive measures such as neighborhood watch programs and fostering open communication environments.
