A brutal act of violence occurred on Tuesday, October 31, in Santa Monica when a 79-year-old woman was assaulted and robbed by four male suspects, who were later found to be driving a stolen vehicle. According to the City of Santa Monica, the elderly woman was left with a head injury and other harm.
A witness provided crucial information to the Santa Monica Police Department, who quickly arrived on scene. The apprehension of the suspects didn't go without incident. When officials located the car in a south-end city zone, the suspects didn't comply, to stop leading into a pursuit that ended in a collision at 11th and Wilshire, after driver lost control.
While three of the suspects were immediately apprehended, the fourth temporarily evaded arrest by entering an inhabited apartment. However, the resident's quick thinking and assistance from an LAPD helicopter allowed for his capture and the recovery of the gun, as noted in a press release.
The attackers are Kejon Stevenson (DOB: 03/03/1999) of Los Angeles, Jacob Pugh (DOB: 04/28/2004), a 17-year-old without a permanent residence, and another 17-year-old, both from Los Angeles. The elderly woman is currently in hospital recovering from her injuries.
