Saturday, a shooting in Compton, Los Angeles, claimed the life of one young man and seriously injured another. Homicide detectives visited the crime scene at the 12800 block of South Atlantic Avenue, where the two male victims, in their twenties, were found, according to a press release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD).

Deputies, upon arrival around 2:00 p.m., discovered the first victim, a 23-year-old man, with a gunshot wound to his upper torso, who sadly passed away at the scene despite paramedics' efforts. Another man, 22-year-old, also suffering from a gunshot wound, was found farther in the alley. According the to LASD update, he is currently in stable condition in a nearby hospital.

The shooting is still under investigation, but early indications suggest it may be gang-related. The victims were pedestrians during the shooting, and at this stage, no details about likely suspects or the vehicle involved have been released, as per Fox LA.
