Over the weekend, Dallas city was thrown into mourning as four people died in two separate vehicular accidents on I-35E and Loop 12. On Friday afternoon and early Saturday, the accidents also left one more person injured as per the Star-Telegram.

Police were called to the scene of distress at around 3:15 p.m. on Friday. This was on the northbound lanes of Interstate 35E, near its junction with the U.S. Highway 67. A vehicle had crashed into a retaining wall leading to the death of two women, with one of them succumbing to injuries at a hospital later. A similar distress call came in the early hours of Saturday from the 4400 block of Great Trinity Forest Way. Here, a car had crashed into an 18-wheeler, killing both its occupants as the same Star-Telegram article reports. The 18-wheeler's driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Fox 4 News shed more light on the Saturday accident. They reported that both vehicles involved had caught fire. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and it took them twenty minutes to completely put out the flames. The police are still investigating whether it's possible the car was driving on the wrong side on Texas 310 at Great Trinity Forest Way. The highway's eastern and western lanes remained closed for several hours as the investigations and cleanup were ongoing.

In the wake of these tragic incidents, the Dallas police continue their investigations. Until their next of kin are notified, the victims' identities will remain private, as advised by the Dallas County Medical Examiner. Looking forward, it is indeed imperative for drivers to continuously reflect on these incidents, as this will reinforce their vigilance and caution on the road, which in turn can prevent such tragedies.
