
A fatal hit-and-run in Pomona on Friday, November 17, has left one person dead and a community seeking answers. The unidentified assailant abandoned their vehicle immediately following the crash that happened at Towne Avenue and Philadelphia Street, and promptly fled the scene, as reported by KTLA.
First respondents at the scene found the male victim, whose identity is being protected, unresponsive in his car. Despite attempts to save a life were made, he succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital, according to the official police statement.
Evidence of the disaster stretched far beyond the immediate crash site. Vehicles were twisted beyond recognition, and debris littered the intersection. One of the vehicles collided into a power box located near a shopping plaza, according to KTLA.
No arrests have yet to bring made in connection to the incident. The suspect remains on the loose. The Traffic Services Bureau of Pomona Police Department is imploring anyone with information to step forward and aid their ongoing investigation.
