The Los Angeles Fire Department tackled a third-floor blaze that tore through a garden-style complex at 11865 W Rochester Avenue, the scenario unraveled. Officials say the unit was "well involved with fire" when firefighters arrived on the scene according to the LAFD's alert.
It took a mere 18 minutes for 33 firefighters to quell the flames, a swift containment effort that extinguished the fire before it could spread further throughout the 6,029-square-foot building. This feat of valiant firefighting prowess is documented in a LAFD report.
No injuries were reported, and while initial signs point to the kitchen as the birthplace of the fire, the specific sparks that set the disaster in motion remain under investigation.
