In a grim case of hit-and-run that snuffed out a young life on Navajo Road, authorities are combing for clues to apprehend the driver responsible for the death of 27-year-old Charlie Zamora Urias. The incident occurred on Sunday evening, leaving local residents and law enforcement seeking justice according to an official report by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.

As deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station and rescue personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Department descended upon the scene, it was a picture of tragedy and urgency. The second vehicle, a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse driven by 37-year-old Francisco Taques Revolorio of Apple Valley, was involved in the fatal cascade after the initial hit by an elusive silver sedan. While Revolorio stayed to face the moment with apparent responsibility, the unknown driver fled, leaving behind questions and a community shaken.

The pedestrian, Charlie Zamora Urias, was found to have suffered major injuries after being struck by the anonymous motorist who was traveling northbound and veered into his unprotected path. Urias’ life was claimed on that very pavement, marking a somber chapter in the otherwise peaceful town. The driver of the Chevrolet, which hit Urias secondarily, was unharmed and cooperated fully with the deputies on the scene.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team have been scouring the site for evidence and witness testimonies in hopes of shedding light on the identity of the fugitive driver. They've signaled for the public's assistance in spotting the silver sedan, now marred with front-end damage and a distinct honeycomb-style grill according to the sheriff's statement.

Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation by contacting Deputy G. Dominguez or Deputy S. Esparza at the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station. Anonymous tips can also be directed to the We-Tip Hotline or through their website.
