
On the streets of Woodland Hills on Wednesday night, a felony hit-and-run suspect plowed into a pedestrian and then smashed into several other vehicles during a frenetic escape attempt, only to be swiftly corralled by law enforcement. The violent procession of events unfolded around 6 p.m. near a bustling retail shopping area according to KTLA.
LAPD officers were close enough to witness the initial impact, where a vehicle struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Topanga Canyon Boulevard. The driver attempted to hastily flee the scene but was pursued for about a block and subsequently apprehended, mentioned in a report by LAPD's Public Information Officer. In one fell swoop, less than a minute later, multiple cars were tangled up as the suspect’s car collided with two other vehicles on Owensmouth Avenue.

The apprehension culminated in a collision that left the perpetrator's and two other victims' vehicles heavily damaged. Grisly images from the scene were spread across social media, illustrating the aftermath of the aggressive dash to capture the suspect, KTLA reported. Bystanders and the community witnessed as the hit-and-run victim was ferried to the hospital for urgent care.
However, a man around 50 years of age involved in the crash was found conscious and breathing, having narrowly missed the fate of being escalated to hospital care, as per a tweet by the LAPD PIO.
Further deepening the incident's intrigue was the retrieval of a gun from the suspect's vehicle, though what intentions lay behind its presence, were yet to unfold into the public purview.
