
Flames ripped through a two-story vacant commercial building in Hollywood yesterday, sending smoke into the air and triggering a rapid response from Los Angeles firefighters. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) reported a blaze at 6844 W Sunset Blvd. at approximately 11:15 a.m. yesterday, with fire showing upon their arrival. According to the LAFD, an offensive mode was quickly set to tackle the fire.
The fire, which was confined to one room on the first floor of the building, was battled by 30 courageous firefighters who managed to quickly and efficiently knock down the flames in roughly 21 minutes. In an effort to quickly contain the outbreak, one firefighter appears to have sustained a non-life-threatening injury and was transported for further care, according to the LAFD update.
Dense plumes of smoke from the incident could be seen for miles around, drawing the attention of both locals and the media alike. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
