An alleged act of animal cruelty is unfolding in Humble, Texas, where authorities are on the hunt for a woman tied to an unthinkable act. The Humble Police Department is appealing to the public for assistance after a woman was captured on surveillance video committing what could only be described as a callous and deadly injustice to a canine companion as reported by KPRC 2.

In the footage, a woman is seen decidedly walking along Dennis Avenue with a dog, leading it to the City of Humble Animal Shelter before she binds the beast to a dumpster. The dog, unable to understand the abandonment, struggled, only to have the rope cruelly tighten around its neck, ultimately succumbing in a tragic end, according to a statement obtained by KPRC 2.

The Humble Police described the dog as a young Pitbull mix, sporting tan and white fur, aged between six and eight months old. The disturbing surveillance video shows the dog in its final moments of distress as the woman, apparently uncaring to its plight, departs. The forsaken animal's struggle was brief yet agonizing, losing consciousness and life within a mere two minutes, a devastating detail confirmed by the Humble Police Department to FOX 26 Houston.

The suspect, a Black woman wearing gray sweatpants, a pink sweatshirt, white ham, and white slides, was last seen leaving the scene of her alleged crime, not even flinching as the dog ceased to struggle. The Humble Police Department is now urgently calling for anyone with information to step forward and reach out, truly hoping to not just bring justice, but perhaps to also understand what could possibly drive an individual to such a cruel and inhumane act. "The suspect is wanted for questioning in connection to the death of the animal," FOX 26 Houston reports.
