Last Friday, the Houston Police Department clamped down on the violence, swiftly arresting 37-year-old Marlon Elias Aplicano-Maldonado, who now faces charges for a savage attack carried out with a deadly weapon.
Details of the incident that unfolded at 9808 Bauman Road emerged after officers responded to a dire emergency call around 3:55 p.m. last Friday, as disclosed in official reports.
The unnamed 40-year-old victim suffered a stabbing that sent him straight into the clutches of paramedics and, subsequently, to a hospital in stable condition. The accused, Aplicano-Maldonado, wasn’t left unscathed either; he was hospitalized for injuries sustained during the scuffle. Conspicuously, a booking photo for Aplicano-Maldonado is still pending due to his hospitalization.
Investigators R. Cook and A. Velazquez from the HPD Major Assaults and Family Violence Division took the lead in piecing together the melee.
Aplicano-Maldonado, still reeling from his injuries, was detained at the scene. Later, now in the confines of a hospital bed, he faced his charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 487th State District Court.
