Earlier today, Irvine City launched a new initiative in collaboration with Southern California Edison that targets residential energy efficiency and savings. Their solution is the XeroHome tool, a free online platform that assists single-family homeowners in identifying energy-saving measures and provides information on various rebates to support energy upgrades.
XeroHome creates a personalized energy-efficiency plan for every user, offering pathways such as electrification, insulation, and rooftop solar. It also connects users to incentives that can help offset the costs of upgrades. This initiative contributes to a cleaner and more sustainable community.
Given increasing homeowner interest in energy-efficient upgrades, XeroHome comes at an opportune time to guide residents on how to reduce their carbon footprint and generate substantial energy savings, according to the City of Irvine.
Furthermore, Irvine residents can take advantage of a unique incentive: the first 100 users of XeroHome will receive a $10 Amazon gift card. One simply needs to share their email when answering the site's questions to qualify.
XeroHome is available to Irvine residents until November 2024.
