The Irvine Police Department has slapped a "Wanted" label on a cunning fraudster accused of tapping into someone else's bank account—not just once, but twice, using a phony passport card. The man's brazen scheme scored him a hefty $3,600 withdrawal from the victim's savings as reported by the department on its official Facebook page.
Officials claim this isn't a one-off for the con artist; he's believed to have hit other bank accounts in a similar fashion. Authorities detailed how the suspect plastered his own mug over the victim's information to craft a convincing fake ID, then trotted to another bank in a different city to dip his hands again into the victim's cookie jar.
In their social media post, Irvine PD gave the public a shout-out for any leads: "If you know this thief, please email [email protected]." as per Irvine Police Department post.
