Chaos erupted in the streets of L.A. this morning as Los Angeles Police Department officers found themselves in a tense standoff with an armed Uber passenger, barricaded in a vehicle in the serene Mount Washington neighborhood. The situation kicked off at approximately 7:35 a.m. on the 4500 block of Marmion Way, near Museum Drive.
According to a KTLA report, the Uber driver played the crucial role of informant, bravely reaching out to the police to report the dangerous passenger armed with a gun. The driver miraculously made it out of the vehicle to quickly alert the authorities, while the armed individual decided to remain inside, forcing a barricade.
Responding officers, both from the Northeast Area and the TSD, swiftly descended upon the scene at 7:38 a.m., with LAPD News revealing on X that the suspect was indeed considered barricaded. Not long after, the LAPD's SWAT was called in to manage the situation.
