Bicyclist Killed in LA Hit-and-Run Tragedy, LAPD Seeks Suspicious Toyota Sedan in Van NuysSource: LAPD

A bicycle rider was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident in Van Nuys on October 30. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is actively searching for the perpetrator who fled, abandoning the injured cyclist on the road.

Details released by LAPD PIO indicate that the accident occurred towards 11:40 P.M. A compact silver or white sedan from the 1990s, suspected to be a Toyota, hit the bicyclist while he was crossing Van Nuys Boulevard south of Delano Avenue. After being struck, the victim was trapped under the car and dragged for more than a mile before being dislodged; the driver did not stop to provide assistance.

The victim - a gentleman in his 40s - was pronounced dead at the scene, his friends and family now mourn his premature demise.

In an effort to resolve the case, the City Council has offered up to $50,000 reward for any information leading to the culprit's identification, capture, and conviction or its resolution through a civil compromise (LAPD PIO).
