Earlier today, a fire ignited at a strip mall situated at 20900 W Lassen St, Chatsworth, California, reported at 6:31 a.m. Initially, flames were visible coming through the roof of one of the units of the mall. Firefighters immediately mounted an offensive response to the fire, requesting additional resources, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
Within 16 minutes of the initial report, at 6:47 a.m., the LAFD declared the fire contained, as noted by the LAFD alert. Initial assessment was later revised to identify the origin of the fire as a dumpster, not structure. Firefighters successfully extinguished the dumpster fire, preventing its spread to the main building. There were no reported injuries.
