The City of Long Beach continues to address homelessness with the deployment of Mobile Access Centers (MAC) throughout November. The program's aim to bridge the accessibility gap to case management services and resources for those experiencing homelessness. It has empowered the City's Homeless Services Bureau outreach staff to initiate crucial intake processes where the need is most imminent, as stated on their official website.

As reported by the City's recent publication, MAC vehicles will station at selective downtown spots during weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon Mon-Fri and 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays for the entire month of November. This is a significant expansion to the program, with an additional downtown spot added and more locations to be disclosed soon.

Till now, the MAC program has materially supported the homeless community in Long Beach. As of October 27, MAC's outreach efforts in October alone have engaged and provided services to 485 homeless individuals. The program, since its inception, managed to engage in 3,023 interactions, and 1,683 unique services were provided, including essential support like referrals, transportation to shelters, enrollment in homeless services systems, and links to community resources and basic services. As of the present date, the program has garnered the participation of 913 individuals who receive ongoing case management support.
