At Millikan High School in Long Beach, a student was caught on cellphone video attacking a teacher. The incident has sparked considerable discussion within the community. The specifics of the event still remain largely confidential due to legal limitations. Thus far, we know the student who committed the attack was not apprehended, but consequence may include suspension to expulsion following an investigation by the Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD), as ABC7 reports.
In a statement to the families of Millikan High School, Principal Alejandro Vega mentioned other students intervened to halt the situation. Vega took the opportunity to thank those students, and remind parents to emphasize to their children the importance of behaving appropriately at school, according to ABC7.
The exact circumstances are still unknown, but the video obtained by the Long Beach Post offers context to the sequence of events leading up to the student physically assaulting the teacher.
