
Long Beach, California celebrates the grand opening of Alamitos Beach Concession Stand today. This event contributes to the city's continual waterfront revitalization efforts aiming to provide residents and visitors with new social, dining and entertainment options, according to the press release.
Designed to activate the waterfront and foster partnerships between the city and event organizers, the $10.1 million Alamitos Beach Concession Stand project is backed by concessionaire Gaucho Grill. As per the City of Long Beach, this Tidelands Fund initiative includes a 5,500 square foot facility featuring a café, seating areas, restrooms, a sports rental/retail facility, and a games corner.
In addition to the facility's physical structure, the presence of the Gaucho Grill adds to the growing list of eateries and amenities on Long Beach's Downtown shoreline. As indicated by Mayor Rex Richardson, this inclusion in the new structure signals his faith in the waterfront's further expansion.
Aside from introducing Gaucho Grill, the city authorities are actively working to enhance the variety of food and amenities offered along the coastline. Including Saltwater Deck, Louisiana Charlie's, Grill 'Em All, and Monty's, a unique assortment of concessionaires, each boasting a distinct culinary style, have been selected through a Request for Proposal process in 2016, as per an official announcement.
