Earlier today, a series of minor vegetation fires sparked in the Lincoln Heights area of Los Angeles, near the Arroyo Seco flood control channel and the Los Angeles River confluence. These fires have raised concerns and are currently subject to an LAFD investigation for potential arson, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
Fire personnel have responsively contained the fires, preventing infrastructure damage. For their effective containment, LAFD sought California Highway Patrol (CHP) assistance to close some lanes on the north and southbound Golden State (I-5) Freeway and the Arroyo Seco Parkway (SR110) near the I-5/SR110 freeway interchange temporarily, leading to expected traffic delays. For information regarding road closures, consult CHP Central L.A.
