Earlier today, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) publicized their search for 20-year-old Dashawn Dow, accused of a string of violent follow-home robberies in Los Angeles. This recent development sheds light on a crime trend plaguing the region and underscores the necessity for public vigilance and collaboration with law enforcement, as reported by the LAPD Newsroom.
The public's appeal for assistance arose from two separate incidents implicating Dow. The first incident occurred on October 2, when a gray Maserati was seen on CCTV trailing a male and female victim to their North Hollywood apartment complex. Here, two armed suspects—one identified as Dow—robbed the victims at gunpoint. The second incident, with similar characteristics, unfolded on October 10, in the same area. Dow and his accomplice successfully fled after both occurrences.
These cases are only a fragment of Dow's suspected crimes in the recent 18 months. During this time, Dow was arrested five times for robbery, yet was able to resume activities after posting bond in each instance, according to the LAPD. Dow is further linked to two additional follow-home style robberies in downtown.
Whilst LAPD is in pursuit of Dow, it is paramount for Los Angeles residents and the wider public to remain vigilant.
Any leads or information regarding Dashawn Dow or similar incidents should be forwarded to LAPD detectives or submitted as anonymous tips via Crime Stoppers.
