A man was shot dead during a street takeover in Vermont Square neighborhood on Friday, November 17. The victim, as reported by the LAPD Newsroom, was a 23-year-old male bystander.
Police responded at 11:55 p.m. to an "ADW Shooting" call at 54th Street and Western Avenue, where several vehicles and pedestrians to rapidly flee were observed. The Los Angeles Fire Department's paramedics arrived at the scene and announced the victim's death. The victim's identity, for now, is being kept confidential until next-of-kin notification.
While violence continues nationwide, LAPD's South Bureau Homicide detectives have opened a manhunt for the suspect. They provided a rudimentary description: a male dressed in dark attire. The suspect still remains unidentified.
